Guyana is a beautiful, English-speaking country on the Northeast coast of South America. It is also burdened by the second highest suicide rate in the world and some of the highest rates of trauma and injury in South America.
The Guyana Mental Health & Well-Being Conference, a collaboration primarily among the Guyana Ministry of Health, University of Guyana and Columbia University, is intended to raise awareness, share information, facilitate collaboration and generate interest in addressing issues related to mental health, suicide, injury and trauma.
