Dr. Hanna is the Director of Global Mental Health for Northwell Psychiatry and a faculty member with Northwell’s Center for Global Health. In this role, she oversees mental health programming for Northwell’s global partnerships. Additionally, she is the site lead for Northwell Center for Global Health’s exciting partnership with the Co-operative Republic of Guyana’s Ministry of Health, GPHC, and UG. The goal of this partnership is to support Guyana in expanding their national mental health and substance treatment services. She has planned visits between Zucker Hillside Hospital (ZHH) and Guyana to build their national capacity, including re-introducing ECT and developing a trauma-informed care strategy after organizing Northwell mental health specialist deployment to Guyana immediately after the tragic fire at Mahdia Secondary School. Dr. Hanna also serves as Associate Program Director and Director of Antiracism & Social Justice for Northwell Psychiatry’s residency training program at the ZHH.
